Ima is a human trafficking survivor, advocate, mentor and consultant. She is a founding member and former Manager of the Survivor Leadership Program at the Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking (CAST) in Los Angeles where she built a community and network of human trafficking survivor leaders across the United States that has impacted US anti-trafficking efforts and policies. Ima has consulted with multiple organisations on Survivor Leadership Programs, including a professional development training curriculum for the US Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center (OVCTTAC). In 2015 President Obama appointed Ima to the first United States Advisory Council on Human Trafficking to advise and provide recommendations to the President’s Interagency Taskforce to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons.
